STATEMENT OF FAITH

GOD

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all. He is everlasting, of infinite power, wisdom and goodness, and in the unity of this Godhead there are three persons of one substance, power and eternity.
(Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19; John 10:30; Philippians 2:6)

THE SCRIPTURES

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired without error in the original manuscripts, and the infallible rule of faith and practice. They are the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. We accept the Bible as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine.
(John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)

GOD THE FATHER

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
(John 4:24; 14:1-2; Titus 1:3; Ephesians 2:8-9)

JESUS CHRIST

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal, visible return to earth.
(Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Mark 16:19; Luke 1:34-35; John 2:11; 10:33; 11:25; Acts 1:11; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9; 4:15; 7:26; Revelation 19:11-16)

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who comes from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ; we believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all Biblical gifts of the Spirit. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to those who are believers in Him.
(John 7:39; 16:8-11; Luke 24:40; Acts 1:4,5,8; Romans 15:13, 16; 1 Corinthians 14; Titus 3:5)

MAN, HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION

We believe that man is a created being, made in the image and likeness of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. All people are sinners by nature and choice and therefore are under condemnation. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came into the world to undo the work of the Devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God. Salvation is the gift of God to repentant man, separate from works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God. God regenerates by the Holy Spirit those who repent of their sins and receive Jesus Christ as Lord; and Jesus Christ baptizes the seeking believer with the Holy Spirit and power for service, often subsequent to regeneration.
(Romans 3:14; 3:23; 3:9-10; 5:12; 1 John 3:8; Galatians 3:13-14; 3:37; Ephesians 2:8-10; Acts 8:15-17; Titus 3:5; John 1:12)

ETERNAL LIFE AND NEW BIRTH

We believe that man’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that produces repentance. The new birth is necessary for all people, and when fulfilled produces eternal life.
(1 Corinthians 7:10; 1 John 5:12; John 3:3-5)

SANCTIFICATION

We believe that without holiness no man can see the Lord, and in the doctrine of sanctification as a definite progressive work of grace, that begins at the time of salvation and continues until the death or the return of Christ.
(Hebrews 12:14; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; 2 Peter 3:18; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Philippians 3:12-14; 1 Corinthians 1:30)

THE CHURCH

We believe in the universal Church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members. The church is an inter-denominational fellowship and it is understood that all the leaders may not agree on all points of doctrine. All leaders and disciples will endeavor to keep the unity of the faith, believing that in the essentials we must have unity, in nonessentials liberty, and in all things love.
(1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 4:11-14; 4:15-16)

BAPTISM

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ gave 2 special statutes to the Church: baptism, and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism in water immediately following conversion is a direct commandment of our Lord and is for believers only. We believe in baptism by immersion as soon as possible after conversion. The practice is an outward and visible symbol of an inward and invisible work, and symbolizes the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
(Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:38; 8:36-39)

COMMUNION — THE LORD’S SUPPER

We partake of the Lord’s Supper to show the Lord’s death until He comes, and communion is open to all genuine believers. The bread symbolizes the Lord’s broken body, the wine symbolizes His blood which was shed for all people and the cup symbolizes the beginning of a new covenant in His blood which provides us with forgiveness of sins and relationship with God. We are to examine ourselves before we receive it, because, if we receive it in an unworthy manner, we are guilty of sinning against the body and blood of our Lord. (1 Corinthians 11:23-31)

DIVINE HEALING

We believe that healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is accomplished by the power of God through the prayer of faith, and by the laying on of hands and anointing with oil. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ and it is the privilege of every member of the Church today.
(Mark 16:18; James 5:14-20; 1 Peter 2:24; Matthew 8:17; Isaiah 53:6)

THE LAYING ON OF HANDS

We believe in the laying on of hands for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, for blessing, for healing the sick, to assign a position, to receive anointing, and for the ordination of shepherds, leaders, elders, overseers, and deacons.
(Mark 10:13-16; Acts 6:6; 8:16-18; 1 Timothy 4:14)

THE GREAT COMMISSION

We believe that obedience to the final command of Christ, the Great Commission, is a requirement for all true followers of Jesus Christ. This command states that we all must, in the authority of Jesus Christ, and in the power of the Holy Spirit, Go to the whole world, Preach the gospel to all people, Baptize everyone who believes, and teach those baptized believers how to obey every single command that Jesus gave. As we do this we are confident that Jesus will be with us every step of the way and that miracles will accompany this work.
(Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16; Luke 24:47; John 20:21; Acts 1:8)

THE RETURN OF CHRIST

We believe in the personal, visible return of Christ to earth and the establishment of His Kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, and the final judgment. The angels said, “He will return from Heaven the same way you saw Him go.” His coming is imminent. When He comes, the dead in Christ shall rise to meet Him, then those believers who are still physically alive shall be caught up together with Him in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. He shall return to earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords and together with His saints He shall reign one thousand years.
(Matthew 16:27; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:6; 20:11-15)

ETERNAL BLESSING AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION

We believe in the eternal blessing of the righteous and the endless suffering of the wicked. The one who physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire and therefore has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or for repentance. The lake of fire is literal. The terms “eternal” and “everlasting”, used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the lake of fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used noting the duration of joy and ecstasy of the saints in the presence of God.
(Hebrews 6:1-2; 9:27; Revelation 19:20; 20:11-15)

THE APOSTLES’ CREED

We believe that the Apostles’ Creed (below) embodies the fundamental tenets of our faith.
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
Amen.

CONDUCT

We believe that the disciple’s life is to be lived in accordance with sound Biblical teaching. Therefore the disciple is to avoid those practices Scripture explicitly prohibits and engage in those practices which Scripture explicitly commands.
